A nominal read range is what can reasonably be expected from our tags with our long range HDX readers in a noise free environment. This distance is measured along the Z axis at the optimum orientation.

  • 12mm @ 45 cm / 17"
  • 23mm @ 60 cm / 24"
  • 32mm @ 90 cm / 36"

Like mileage ratings for automobiles, your actual value may be different than these numbers.  Many factors will affect the read range and you will get better and worse values than these.

 

Some customers have built antennas with exceptionally good range and have reported these distances:

  • 12mm @ 75 cm / 30"
  • 23mm @ 180 cm / 72"
  • 32mm @ 200 cm / 80"
